We are beyond excited to announce that Rockerbox News has been named the winner of the ‘Best Primary Resource or Equipment – ICT’ category at the Education Resources Awards 2023 (ERA)!

Rockerbox News is dedicated to providing KS1 and KS2 pupils with up-to-date, high-quality, and accessible non-fiction content that is fully aligned with the national curriculum for reading and is appropriate for all levels of ability.

As part of our commitment as a member of the Global Equality Collective and headline sponsor of nasen (the National Association for Special Educational Needs), we believe this award is a testament to our mission to promote global citizenship, inform pupils, accelerate reading skills, build confidence, and encourage independent learning for the whole class, including EAL and SEND-inclusive communities.

On Thursday, May 18th 2023 in Birmingham, the awards ceremony took place at the National Conference Centre. The ERA judging panel was highly impressed with Rockerbox News, stating:

“[We] were impressed by the factual approach of this programme. The regularly updated resources, presenting current news items to children in ways that spark conversation and engagement is genuinely innovative. The levels of differentiation across all key stages provide resources to engage all pupils and make the investment one that leaders and budget holders will see as benefiting the entire school.”

We want to extend our sincerest gratitude to BESA and the Education Resource Awards for this incredible and prestigious award, as well as to our dedicated team, valued partners, and amazing subscribers for all of their support. We could not have accomplished this without you!

With this recognition for our achievements thus far, we are more motivated than ever to continue developing the Rockerbox News platform to ensure it remains a valuable resource for even more teachers and children. Together, we can help inspire the next generation of informed and engaged learners.
